Dov grew up in Southern California and attended UC Berkeley before continuing his studies of religion and Judaism at Harvard University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. He has served as both a congregational rabbi in the LA area and Seattle, Washington and as an innovative leader of the Jewish educational outreach organization, Panim Hadashot-New Faces of Judaism.

Hanukah is a festival of unexplored themes and conflicts, often covered over by the juvenile emphasis to the holiday in our times. This Seder uses oils and breads to tell a deeper and fascinating story of the themes of Hanukah and to bring Jews together in new and engaging celebrations of holy time.
