Liz Blazer

Liz’s award wining film Backseat Bingo featured lively interviews with Jewish senior citizens discussing sex in the golden years. Backseat Bingo screened at over 180 festivals in twenty-five countries and won (among other honors) a Comedy Short Award at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival and an Honorable Mention from the International Documentary Association (IDA). Liz specializes in commercial and short form projects that are both funny and infused with heart. Informed by her years of industry experience at MTV, Disney and the Palestinian/Israeli Sesame Street, Liz’s directing work in animation is memorable for its precise comic timing and human touch.

Let's kick back and watch a bunch of really funny Jewish short films! "West Bank Story" directed by Ari Sandel won the Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film last year. A musical comedy set in the fast-paced, fast-food world of competing falafel stands in the West Bank. (21 minutes) "The Tribe," the award-winning short film by Tiffany Shlain, takes an unorthodox, unauthorized look at the Jewish people and the Barbie doll. (18 minutes) "Backseat Bingo" by filmmaker Liz Blazer is the award-winning, poignant and humorous animated documentary short about the romantic lives of senior citizens. (5 minutes)
