Matt’s music has been featured on MTV's “The Real World” and NBC's “Hip Hop Nation Notes from the Underground.” He has opened for the Grammy-winning group, Outkast, as well as Jurassic 5 and Matisyahu. The Bible Raps Project is an outgrowth of the success and excitement he discovered when he introduced Bible Raps into his Hebrew School classrooms in Iowa City, IA, and Greenwich, CT. Currently, Matt is a Fellow at the Pardes Institute of Jewish studies.

Do Maimonides’ thirteen principles of faith still resonate for Jewish young adults today? Can rap music be a medium to express Jewish identity? Come see how Matt Bar interweaves Torah, Jewish thought, and personal experience in the medium of rap music. Through text study, discussion, and performance, participants will explore Jewish identity.

Hear the biblical stories of the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel, Noah, the Akedah (binding of Isaac), the Ten Plagues, David and Goliath, the Battle of Jericho, and more from a whole new perspective.
