Ethan Isenberg
Second Look Productions
Ethan Isenberg runs Second Look Productions. His first documentary film is entitled, “Lonely Man of Faith”. Ethan has both a BA in English Literature, with a concentration in Film Studies, and a BS in Computer Science, from the University of Pennsylvania. Before embarking on a career in filmmaking, Ethan worked as a computer programmer. He also spent two years studying in yeshivot in Israel. He lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with his wife, Nili.

This video shows the moving story of Joseph B. Soloveitchik, the famous rabbinic scholar, who battled ignorance, extremism, and corruption, in order to prove that a genuine life of faith, although lonely, can be lived in consonance with the modern world. The film is about his inspiring life, his tremendous impact, and the complicated legacy he left behind. “Lonely Man of Faith” is narrated by Tovah Feldshuh and includes readings by Theodore Bikel. The film will be followed by question-and-answer opportunity with the director and Kenny Brander.

Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik has been described as both a boundary-maker and a bridge-builder, a link to the “Old World” in Europe and a guide to the contemporary trends in America. The panelists will discuss “The Rav's” complicated legacy in areas such as interdenominational cooperation, interfaith dialogue, Halacha (Jewish Law), Jewish education, and religious Zionism. They will also provide insight into his personal relationships and how they may relate to his public positions.
